Leica stereo microscopes in the Leica « Research » series are modular devices. They can be fitted with different stands, ergonomic accessories, cameras and lighting allowing for added capabilities.

They differ from the « Routine » series in their apochromatic optical path and higher magnification ratio. Some models are PC-connected (zoom position viewed by LAS X or Enersight software).
